Asthma and Chiropractic
Asthma is a chronic lung disease that affects the airways of the lungs, making it difficult to breath. People with asthma may experience coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath during asthma attacks. Often times, patients that present with asthma have subluxated vertebra in their cervical-thoracic junctions and feel relief with chiropractic care. Proper alignment of the spine can improve airflow by reducing tension on the diaphragm. Regulation of the central nervous system also help autonomic functions like breathing organize in more efficient patterns. Most importantly, chiropractic reduces stress which can lead to asthma attacks.
